A senior developer working on Assassin’s Creed: Unity recently made a statement saying that the resolution and frame rate for Unity would be locked at 900p @ 30fps on both next gen consoles, as their aim was to achieve console parity. Ubisoft has since backtracked from this statement, declaring that these specs have not yet been decided on yet for each platform. While the gaming community waits to see exactly what quality they’ll be getting on release, I want to discuss the idea of “console parity”, and why I feel it’s something gamers and consumers should be concerned with.
